Zuora currently supports payment gateways from Network Merchant Inc (NMI), which is a payment gateway provider that offers card payments for subscription businesses, including SaaS and software on-demand companies.

If you opt to use Network Merchant Inc as your payment gateway, the following information will help you configure the connection between your Zuora tenant and your Network Merchant Inc account.

Network Merchant Inc: This is a company that provides credit card processing services for merchants. They've partnered with Zuora to provide this service in addition to their products and services.

NMI Credentials for the Production Environment: These are provided by Network Merchant Inc upon request, which will allow you to connect directly with them through their API (Application Programming Interface). The credentials include an API Key and Secret Key pair that must be used when connecting with the platform; these values should never be shared outside of secure environments such as those found within production environments or test servers where only approved users can access secret data like API keys!

Obtain your NMI Credentials for the Production Environment

You will need to obtain your NMI credentials for the production environment and the sandbox environment.

Log in to the NMI Portal.

  • Go to the Network Merchant Inc site: https://www.networkmerchantinc.com/
  • Click on "Login" in the top right corner of your screen and enter your username and password when prompted by NMI's security protocols.
  • The following credentials are needed when configuring your gateway connection in Z-Payments > Settings > Payment Gateways.
  • NMI Merchant Secret - Your merchant secret from Network Merchant Inc, is located in the top right corner of your dashboard under My Account > Settings > View Details.
  • NMI Merchant Token - The token provided by Network Merchant Inc when creating a new account or updating an existing one (it's just like an API key). You can find it on the top right corner of your dashboard under My Account > Settings > View Details or if you're logged into their site directly here: https://yourmerchantservicesrep.com/nmi-payment-gateway/

Note that production credentials are from NMI.

Production credentials are required for the production use of the NMI Payment Gateway. They are different from sandbox credentials, which you can use to test your integration in a live environment before launching it to production. Production credentials have many restrictions and requirements that must be met before they will work properly.

Production credentials have strict security requirements, so you must meet them before you can use the gateway in production mode:

You must be an approved merchant with NMI (you can apply here). As part of this process, we ask for information about your business and its operations so we can verify that it's legitimate and meets our standards for security and PCI compliance (more on this later). If this doesn't apply to your company--for example if it's just an individual selling thing online--you'll need another payment gateway provider instead!
